Dinanath Shastri (Madanpuri) is a religious Hindu firefighter. Sooner or later his son, Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty) brings residence a younger lady, Salma (Rameshwari) as he felt sorry for her. Dinanath thinks she is Hindu and calls her Shanti, and thinks of constructing her his daughter-in-law, as she nurses him and takes care of the whole family after he has an accident. Sooner or later Dinanath meets with a blind man who he acknowledges as Dr. Varma (Om Shivpuri), who he has identified for a few years. Dr. Varma's daughter, Neetu (Ranjeeta Kaur) and Shankar have been childhood sweethearts. This information breaks Salma's coronary heart however she doesn't let anybody know. Dr. Varma's arch enemy the rich, highly effective, and seemingly beneficiant Agnihotri (Amrishpuri) finds out he's alive and units his goons out to kill him. Why would a wealthy and beneficiant man need to kill a innocent blind man? What would be the response of the religious Dinanath when he finds out that Shanti is Muslim?
