Primarily based on the 'Arabian Nights', this movie tells of the Baghdadi woodcutter Alibaba (M. Bose) and his magic 'Open Sesame' formulation; of the hero's jealous brother Kasim and the slave woman Marjina (S. Bose). The movie adapts the 1897 play, giving it a Hollywood-derived unique flavour. An improvised 'trendy' dance is inserted. The sluggish, mannered appearing with the frontally framed tableau photographs are enlivened by the dance scenes, particularly the Marjina-Abdallah sequence.
