After finishing his medical research, Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) takes a break and goes on vacation in Kashmir. There he meets with Usha (Sadhana) and each fall in love with one another. Again house, Gopal has an in depth good friend, Ramesh (Feroze Khan), whose dad (Brahm Bhardwaj) needs him to marry Usha as an organized marriage. Ramesh likes Usha and is prepared to marry her. Within the meantime, Gopal finds out that Ramesh goes to be married to Usha and decides to not pursue his romance with Usha. When Ramesh and Gopal's sister, Sarla (Nazima) persuade Gopal that Usha solely loves him, he reveals a darkish secret to them, which can persuade them that he's not proper for Usha.
