Karuppaswamy, a widowed evening watchman, lives in a small city in Tamil Nadu together with his sister and three nephews. Whereas getting back from his shift one morning, he breaks his hip in an accident. Although his nephews need him to be handled on the town, his son Senthil takes him to their ancestral village to be healed by a conventional healer. After a number of days, Karuppaswamy dies.
