A younger Military nurse, Lt Ruth McGara, newly assigned to the 66th MASH throughout the Korean Warfare, attracts the sexual consideration of the unit's commander Dr. (MAJ) Jed Webbe. Webbe, who has a ingesting drawback, at first desires a "no strings" relationship. McGara is warned by the opposite nurses of Webbe's womanizing methods. Regardless of these preliminary handicaps, their love thrives towards a background of warfare, enemy assaults, dying and harm. The connection deepens and uplifts each characters.
