Rai Bahadur Bhujanga Choudhury married Smritikana a few years after the loss of life of her first spouse. Usually she remembers the incidents in her earlier life and she or he behaves in extraordinarily unnatural approach. Tanima (Suchitra Sen) is the daughter of Bhujanga from his first marriage. Tanima takes his stepmother Smritikana to the hospital for therapy. There Tanima fell in love with the Physician Ashok (Uttamkumar) who was treating Smritikana. When she noticed Dr. Ashok first time, Smritikana behaved in an bizarre approach and she or he thought Ashok is his Son. Though in love with Tanima, Ashok refused to marry her as a result of he himself is an orphan and does not know his dad and mom. In the future whereas Dr. Ashok was speaking to his senior Dr (who taken care of Ashok since his childhood) and Tanima, instantly they heard some individuals chasing a thief (Gurudas). When the thief entered, Smritikana devi noticed him and immediately acknowledged him as Gurudas. Then the story from her earlier delivery unfolded.
