When a not-so-popular lawyer is killed on the county line, Maksville County Sheriff Alden Rockwell should reluctantly work with the newly elected Sheriff Jo Porter of the neighboring York county. Her "huge metropolis" strategies conflict along with his "old skool" methods, however when the assassin continues to strike, they have to study to put aside their variations and work collectively with the intention to cease the killer.
