By June 1942, the Japanese Navy has swept throughout the Pacific. In an effort to vary the course of the conflict, a United States service group is positioned off the coast of Halfway, tasked with springing a lure on the enemy. Throughout this pivotal battle, the two-man crew of a U.S. Navy dive bomber is compelled to ditch within the sea. Set adrift, the lads look in direction of their comrades for rescue; particularly, the ragtag crew of a PBY Catalina, who're despatched to seek for survivors. Amid the huge openness of the Pacific, with days passing and the possibility of rescue fading, the lads are compelled to face their very own mortality.
