9-year-old Frankie and his single mum Lizzie have been on the transfer ever since Frankie can keep in mind, most lately arriving in a seaside Scottish city. Wanting to guard her deaf son from the reality that they've run away from his father, Lizzie has invented a narrative that he's away at sea on the HMS Accra. Each few weeks, Lizzie writes Frankie a make-believe letter from his father, telling of his adventures in unique lands. As Frankie tracks the ship's progress across the globe, he discovers that it is because of dock in his hometown. With the actual HMS Accra arriving in solely a fortnight, Lizzie should select between telling Frankie the reality or discovering the right stranger to play Frankie's father for simply at some point...
