Kusam Desai strikes from Pune to Bombay along with her new husband and household good friend Vimal, who doesn't dwell as much as her expectations. After discovering Vimal's love with Sapna, they have to use the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 with the intention to get hold of a divorce, which is culturally stigmatized.
