The residents of a rural mining city uncover that an unlucky chemical spill has brought on a whole lot of little spiders to mutate in a single day to the scale of SUVs. It is then as much as mining engineer Chris McCormack and Sheriff Sam Parker to mobilize an eclectic group of townspeople, together with the Sheriff's younger son, Mike, her daughter, Ashley, and paranoid radio announcer Harlan, into battle in opposition to the bloodthirsty eight-legged beasts.
