Frictions develop when Yisroel "Izzy" Jonigkeyt, a Chassidic Jew from Crown Heights, travels to San Francisco to go to Polish-born Catholic pal Marek Wisniewski with the intent of discovering why a Bay Space art-world iconoclast named Harry Kierk seeks to destroy a lifetime's value of his personal work. Because the go to progresses, Izzy and Marek uncover for the primary time that complicated historic baggage impinges on their curious friendship and, quickly, they start to know why Kierk is pushed in direction of destruction. Continued encounters with Marek's vaguely anti-Semitic cousin Irek (who's their solely gateway to contact Kierk) solely compound these tensions.
