Vishal (Rishi Kapoor) comes from a rich Hindu household. His father is well-known Chandraprakash Singh (Amrish Puri), and his mother is a housewife, Sharda (Asha Parekh). Vishal falls in love with a younger Catholic woman, Ruby Miranda (Farha). Whereas Ruby's dad (Alok Nath) approves of the wedding, Chandraprakash doesn't, and won't even hear of his son marrying somebody not of equal standing in wealth, go away alone a unique faith. He's all of the extra enraged when he learns that Vishal isn't actually his son.
