Wyatt, a cynical narcoleptic who lives in a flop house-like condo, needs to be a journalist. His profession desires are almost dashed when he notices a mysterious woman named Fern dwelling on his block in an 88' Toyota Tercel hatchback. Fern's father went lacking and assumed lifeless when she was a younger youngster dwelling in Montana. After receiving a cryptic letter from a stranger named Dr. Inexperienced, telling her that her father is alive and dwelling in LA, she decides to go search for him herself. Collectively the 2 set off on a journey to seek out Fern's elusive dad among the many derelict corners of the town, whereas creating a not so platonic curiosity for one another alongside the way in which.
