Impressed by tales of Polish musicians from the Thirties and 40s. Two younger lovers, Robert, a Catholic opera singer, and Rachel, a Jewish violin virtuoso, dream of in the future performing collectively at legendary Carnegie Corridor. After they're torn aside by the German invasion of Poland, Robert vows to seek out Rachel, it doesn't matter what the warfare could carry. His search leads him on a life-threatening journey by way of the center of Nazi Germany, to a reckoning that Rachel could also be misplaced to him perpetually.
