Abandoned by his mom, teenaged Raju is adopted by Beeranikka, a Muslim ferryman. Raju quickly begins accompanying Beeranikka in ferrying individuals. Sooner or later, he meets a younger lady who's returning to her native city Kozhikode after the loss of life of her mom. The lady invitations Raju to Kozhikode the place she can be staying together with her father and uncle. Not keen on leaving the ferrying job, Raju rejects the invitation. A number of days later, he finds himself in possession of an decoration which he thinks belongs to the lady. He travels to Kozhikode to return the decoration and finds the lady after many days of search. The lady doesn't recognise Raju and says the decoration doesn't belong to her. Disheartened, Raju returns to the ferry.
