In a small, tribal district city of Central India in 1929, Francis Massey is the 'English Sort Babu' on the Deputy Commissioner's workplace. Massey believes that as a result of he's Christian and may converse English, he's a reduce above different Indians and never very totally different from the white sahibs he serves. For a person of lowly delivery, Massey has risen to a dizzying top. Alternatively, he acknowledges no reasonable limits to his personal free spirit. Each time the actual world fails him, he improvises - boldly, imaginatively. Alas, the unsmiling, implacable equipment of the Raj has no room for Massey Sahib, the travelling salesman, street foreman and entertainer. Proper as much as the bitter finish, Massey believes that Deputy Commissioner Adam Sahib will step in and save him.
