Mele Murals is a documentary on the transformative energy of contemporary graffiti artwork and historic Hawaiian tradition for a brand new technology of Native Hawaiians. On the heart of the story are two famend road artists - Estria Miyashiro (aka Estria) and John Hina (aka Prime) - a bunch of Native Hawaiian youth, and the agricultural group of Waimea. Set in opposition to the resurgence of Hawaiian language and tradition of the previous twenty years, Estria and Prime inform how their road artwork has taken them on private journeys to find their historical past, identification and tasks as Hawaiian individuals.
