Shekhara Menon (Thilakan) is retired earnings tax officer from Mumbai and has now settled in a distant village in Kerala. He owns some land and a home the place he and his three daughters dwell collectively and leads a relaxed, silent and blissful life. Menon owns a smaller home adjoining to his personal which is given for lease, Hareendran (Mammootty) is a struggling small time contractor and is available in as a brand new tenant to the rented home.
