Sunder (Govinda) comes from his village to the massive metropolis. He's naive, simply influenced, and illiterate. His makes an attempt to affect ladies are mocked, and he's ignored and made enjoyable of by his roommates. Someday, he befriends an NRI, Payal Khurana (Rani Mukerji), who thinks he's disabled and dumb. She feels sorry for him and decides to help him get his voice again. She takes him to Dr. S. Puri (Om Puri), who's unable to discover a answer. Sunder is thrilled on the consideration he's getting from Payal, and decides to proceed to drag wool over her eyes, for he is aware of that she doesn't love him, she solely feels sorry for his handicap, and can quickly be returning abroad. Little does he know that Payal is starting to fall in love with him, and arranging for him to fulfill her aunt, Mrs. Chaudhary (Farida Jalal), and her mother and pop (Navin Nischal). Ultimately, to maintain true to his phrase Sunder cuts off his tongue.
