Set in 1990, a lonely bachelor named David searches for an escape from the day-to-day drudgery of caring for his growing old mom. Whereas in search of a associate by a video relationship service, he discovers an odd VHS tape referred to as Hire-A-Pal. Hosted by the charming and charismatic Andy, the tape provides him much-needed firm, compassion, and friendship. However Andy's friendship comes at a price, and David desperately struggles to afford the value of admission.
