'Saanjhbathir Roopkothara' tells the story of a younger dreamer. Whereas the title character desires of magnificence, love and happiness, her desires are damaged by her encounter with males she meets(the lads are portrayed as lusting objects, apart from the daddy) and in the end shattered by her father. Superbly instructed, via poetry and symbolism, director Anjan Das presents Tukun aka Saanjhbathi's world. Her world can be introduced via her father's fantastic work from which she attracts inspiration. Indrani Halder gracefully performs the title position with sincerity and maturity whereas Soumitra Chatterjee is classy.
