Din Dayal Sharma works as a Head Clerk and lives along with his spouse, Godavari; 3 sons Vijay, his spouse Uma; Shiva and Vidyasagar; and a daughter named Rajni. Their way of life is middle-class and all three males contribute to this way of life with Vijay contributing essentially the most as he's a Chartered Accountant. When the time comes for Rajni's marriage, she refuses to marry Jagmohan's son, and needs to marry a Christian by the title of Peter Fernandes. The wedding takes place, and she or he re-locates to the Fernandes' home.
