The story is about three sisters Srividya, Subha and Jayachitra, every getting interested in their tenant, a younger man performed by Sivakumar. Sivakumar falls in love with Jayachitra. Nevertheless, issues take a flip to the more severe within the typical Balachander type when Jayachitra sacrifices herself to the whims of a playboy, performed by Kamal Haasan so as to save her good friend (Jayasudha) from his exploits. What occurs subsequent, who marries whom, is the crux of a dramatic climax. The film turns the complete idea of romantic motion pictures by its head - the idea being that the hero doesn't all the time should get the woman.
