Sprinter tells the story of Akeem Sharp who is about to be Jamaica's subsequent large track-and-field sensation. Akeem hopes to rise within the monitor and discipline world will take him to the U.S. to reunite him together with his mom who has supported the household whereas residing as an unlawful resident for over a decade. However Akeem's rising star is weighed down by turmoil at house: a risky father, and an unruly older brother who insinuates himself into Akeem's profession as a way of escaping - or maybe enhancing - his rip-off artist hustle. Not solely does Akeem need to show to himself and everybody that he can succeed, but additionally overcome the struggles which will finally convey him down.
