The story facilities on paroled white supremacist who has simply killed a cop, and takes a black household hostage. Inside hours of being launched from 14 years of solitary confinement in maximum-security Pelican Bay State Jail, Garrett Tully is on the run once more. When he finds a home off a dust highway and takes a household hostage, he thinks the Aryan Brotherhood has his again–and his kidnap victims are black. The household’s patriarch, Mr. Walker, is a jaded ex-con who hates cops a lot he disavowed his personal son for turning into one. Seeing a well-recognized desperation in Tully, Walker refuses to name the authorities for assist, inflicting familial tensions to escalate, and shortly grave missteps are made.
