In opposition to the needs of his mother and father (who're within the midst of a messy divorce), a younger boy steals the ashes of his lifeless Grandfather and runs away into the wilderness along with his canine. The boy is set to meet his beloved Grandpa's dying needs and unfold his ashes atop a distant mountain. Alongside the treacherous journey, the boy and the canine are accompanied by the ghost of his Grandpa, who helps them on their journey, brings the household again collectively and offers the boy one final likelihood to say goodbye.
