A rich landlord lives a decadent life together with his spouse and son. His ardour – his spouse would calls it his habit – is music, and he spends quite a lot of his fortune on live shows held for the locals in his magnificent music room. He feels threatened by his neighbour, a commoner who has attained riches by means of enterprise dealings. His ardour for music and quest for social respect are his undoing, as he sacrifices his household and wealth making an attempt to retain it.
