Arvind Desai is the one son of a wealthy businessman who offers in luxurious handicrafts and merchandise. His emotions for his father are blended—whereas he hates his dominating nature, he admires his energy and lack of scruples. He has lengthy discussions on artwork and politics with a Marxist buddy Rajan, is seeing his father's secretary Alice, and typically he visits a prostitute, Fatima. A lot in opposition to his needs, his marriage is organized to a woman from a high-class household that has simply returned from Paris; a lot to the dismay of Alice's mom, who realizes that Alice was simply time-pass for Arvind and nothing extra.
