Vaidooryam tells the story of Gayathri, a village lady who loves Sreekuttan. Sreekuttan joins the military and leaves the village. After a while, he goes lacking and the information spreads within the village. Everybody begins believing that Sreekuttan is useless besides Gayathri. She begins her journey looking for him. The issues she faces in her journey and the reality she finds out kinds the crux of the story.
